. . . from Mary

Though I didn't know Brandon well,

this poem came to me about him, in pieces

just days after Brandon went to be with the Lord.

The words came several hours apart

during the middle of the night and early morning.

After the first line I thought it was kind of odd and fairy tale sounding.

Then another piece would come.

And finally when it was done it was very beautiful sounding.

I say that because the words came to me,

I did not make them up myself.

So when it was formed it surprised me and I told God they were lovely words.

Certainly His.

I was still feeling a little funny about the "Sweet Prince" part.

But when I opened my bible to Psalm 45,

there were many things that jumped out at me about Brandon.

Him being made ready for a wedding.

When in actuality his body was getting prepared for a funeral.

But really they are the same.

Except we can't see beyond the exit door into the preparation room.

The psalm talks about your sons will be called princes.

When I read that line I started crying.

I knew this was from God and His words not my own.

His awesomeness overwhelmed me,

and I just had to cry because of His tenderness passion He has towards us.

He is a gentle loving Savior.

Brandon is in good hands,

waiting for the feast to be ready

and we all are called into the marriage of the Lamb together,

and shall be one in Him forever.

My heart longs for the day.

Sleep Gently,

Sweet Prince,

Son of the Soon Coming King,

Then we Shall see You as You Really Are.

A Note from Lisa . . .

I will never forget the day,

I went to the graveyard.

I went there often,

and even from the car,

I could see if anything had been touched or moved.

I saw this picture frame from a distance.

As I approached close enough to be able to read the words of this poem,

the words the Lord had so graciously given to Mary,

My legs actaully gave out on me.

I fell to the ground and I wepted.

I was struck by the beauty of the words,

Struck by the Power of the Lord in these words.

Thank you Jesus for the gift you gave to me,

through your servant Mary.
