Brandon Dean McManamy

1980-1998

 

Brandon age 17

 

Palmer, Alaska resident, Brandon Dean McManamy, 17, died June 21, 1998, at Finger Lake as a result of a canoeing accident.

 

Brandon was Born on Sept. 25, 1980 in Anchorage Alaska to Donald  and Alicia, the daughter of Milton and Rosetta.

 

At the time of his death, he was a student at Colony High School in Palmer, Alaska and would of graduated following the coming school year.

 

According to his family, "Brandon was a lifelong Alaskan who grew up on the shores of Finger Lake. He enjoyed being outdoors to fish and camp with his family and friends. Brandon was a quiet and thoughtful person who didn't say much but always had a warm and loving smile for everyone he met. He attended Colony High School, where he had many friends. He loved to hang out, play basketball and enjoy the lake. His friends will remember him as a generous and kind person who was ever ready to jump in and lend a hand when needed. He was described as polite, compassionate and generous by the many adults who knew him. His sense of humor was always ready to surface in unusual and unexpected ways.

 

A funeral was held at 2 p.m. on June 26, 1998 at Family Christian Center in Palmer, Alaska. Brandon was laid to rest in Palmer Pioneer Cemetery. The Rev. Peter Gallardo officiated. Pallbearers were Joshua, Joseph, Lance, Chris, Jermy, Doyle, Jason and Steve.

Brandon is survived by his mother and stepfather, Alicia and Mark; sister, Rachel all of Palmer, Alaska; father Donald, stepbrother Sheldon of Anchorage; grandparents, Milton and Rosetta of Wasilla, Alaska, Nina of Anchorage, John and Louise of Washington, great-grandmother Louise of Louisiana; uncles included Jim and Fe of Anchorage; Rian of Texas; aunts included Shelly and Galen, Kelly and Scott of Washington, Tonie and Brad of Palmer, Alaska, Delores  of Anchorage, Becky of Arizona; first cousins, Joshua, Jeremy, Tara, Tamara of Anchorage, Ryan and Janae of Palmer, Melody, Megan, Joel, Jonathan, Matthew, Lindsey, and Kenra of  Washington and Adam of Colorado.

 

Brandon is also survived by many great aunts, great uncles, and a host of cousins in Louisiana who are too numerous to name but who's love for Brandon was great.
