Anniversary Treasures...

On the first year anniversary of Brandon's death, I had two special gifts.

The first came from Andy and Kenny.

They came over with a dozen peach roses.

Your two have really been here for me.

And I want you to know how much that has meant to me.

It is very easy for me to see in you both, why Brandon loved you the way he did.

Thank you for your love this day, and for all days.

The second came when

Jason, Jermy, Steve, Tim, and Donovan

came over with flowers and a picture frame.

It was a collage of pictures, the one's below.

I cant tell you how much this gift meant to me.

I had so little pictures of Brandon this time of his life.

But thanks to you boys, you helped fill what I didn't have.

And I will be forever grateful.

For months Brandon was asking me if I would buy him a keg of beer for his 18th birthday. To which I always respond, "Sure, and empty one!"

I was so mean to you sometimes Brandon. When ever I ran out of cigarettes, I never had to look far. Brandon's coat pocket would find me a few every time. But one day I hit the Jack Pot! A full pack of Camels. When Brandon woke up he was not happy to see me smoking his butts. And to make it worse, I smoked them blowing the  smoke at him. He was so mad. Said to me, "That was a full pack!" My response was, "You see Brandon what addiction does to you, You steal and you Don't care!"

Brandon if I could have you back,

mom would buy you a carton of cigarettes and two kegs of beer.

Jason lived across the street by the lake. He told me that when he first moved there he would see Brandon get on his bike ride to the woods, stay there for a few, ride back home. Jason watched Brandon do this over and over. One day Jason decided to follow Brandon, to see what he was doing. He found Brandon scrunched down smoking a cigarette. And he bummed one,

and they were friends from that moment on.
